Darren Dutton | Untitled (2021-22) for Saxophone Ensemble | Score Follower
Hello! I decided to upload this almost a year after its premiere because I thought it was still worth sharing. I wrote this piece for the Crane Saxophone Ensemble while in my junior year of my undergrad at the recommendation of my saxophone professor, Dr. Casey Grev.
This recording is the Crane Saxophone Ensemble on March 28, 2022. The piece opened the ensemble's first live performance in since 2019.
The players are reading from a slightly earlier version of the score than what you are seeing on screen here, so please forgive any discrepancies.
If you would like to perform this or any other piece of mine, you can contact me at dduttonmusic@gmail.com. To see my other compositions, check out darrenduttonmusic.com/composer.

Darren Dutton and Vincent Fasano Live at the Little Nook, August 13, 2018

"Take Five" and "the Girl From Ipanema" performed at the Little Nook in Sayville's open mic night on August 13, 2018. With Vincent Fasano on keyboard and Darren Dutton on alto saxophone
Always loved the sound of the soprano sax! While, in my opinion, the alto and tenor sax sound alike, the soprano saxophone sounds like a completely different instrument from its relatives.
yay can’t wait to fall asleep to this…. 😅 (wish me luck)
I swear it’s getting louder.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard something beautifuler than this I ain’t joking the soprano and bari solos in the first half had me in a heatwave from how 🔥 it was. Wait. I think you dropped this 👑
made me instantly subscribe, i love this piece so much! its such a complex yet flowing and simplistic melody and i want nothing more than to hear or play it live!
all of his other master creations plus this lmao
Your stuff is fire bro
To the 6 people who disliked this. What is wrong with you? This is a masterpiece. A Picasso of its time.
I never played this game(until recently)and before I thought this was how the song went. I don't know what is wrong with me.
This piece is gorgeous
AHHHHHHHHHHHH my soul is melting AHHHHHH
Is this where the audio for the sheet music came from? This is absolutely amazing by the way I’ve listened to the sheet music vid at least 10 times
Beautiful music. Congratulations.
L intro fait penser à du John Williams
LMAO I DIDN'T READ THE WHOLE TITLE!!!! I was bamboozled!!! XD
stunning!
holy hell this is hard but good job dude
very good, only thing I'm not a huge huge fan of is the soprano sax's sound. At times it's a little grating.
Very nice!New subscriber!! I compose myself and publish on my channel.
it’s so good you don’t understand I listen to it like everyday
great piece! might play this for my spring concert at my highschool!
The perfect way to punish someone just get them to listen to this
Very nice work Darren! I usually don't like saxophones, but your composition almost moves me to write something for this ensemble :)
Time to make my friends mad when the song doesn't start
this is torture
WOAH THAT WAS SO AWESOME I’m a saxophonist and a composer and wow that sounded amazing
amazing
5:25 is so yummy
Beautiful composition and an amazing performance! Out of curiosity, what were you thinking or imagining (if anything specific) while writing this? Does this piece have any story? It captures a very specific emotion to me that I haven't been able to put into words.
This is beautiful!
Classic Burt
I was listening to this because someone on reddit sent a link, I didn't realize it was 10 hours and was about to watch the whole thing.
This sounds fantastic!
Trying to convince my conductor to play this or untitled (coming from a Bari sax/oboe)
yeah
Good stuff!
Congratulations, it sounds great, I love the piece, would it be possible for you to send me this piece so that I can play it with my friends? is beautiful. Regards, and thank you very much.
